Matt Bush is an award winning professional photojournalist based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. As a staff photojournalist with the Hattiesburg American - a Gannett newspaper - he developed his love for the Pinebelt community. He received the 2009 and 2010 Mississippi Associated Press Photo of the Year award, as well as the 2009 and 2010 Mississippi Better Newspaper Photo of the Year Award. Many other plaques and honors bear his byline from AP, APME and the BNC. He has experience in covering all types of stories from immigration raids to hometown features, disasters and recovery to championship sporting events, long format photo essays and multimedia projects.
In addition to providing still photographs from events, he is well versed in multimedia journalism and video production.
